The Makekup Show LA 2016

This show marks their 8th year in the City Of Angels. This was my 2nd time at The Makeup Show but my 1st time at #TMUSLA! I had an amazing time full of Artistry, Networking, Community, Inspiration and Education returning to The Makeup Show in LA! The LA venue was much larger than the San Francisco Pop-Up with many on-going demos and career building break-out rooms. Definitely a must-attend event for all makeup professionals on the West Coast! I was able to reconnect and create new connections with fellow artists, founders and artists of many makeup brands and amazing educators in the industry.

First stop is a Bridal workshop with Bethany Townes who shared pro tips on bridal makeup, recommended products for your kit and how to downsize your traveling makeup kit. Thank you Bethany!

I reconnected with The Powder Group and Creative Director & Editor at On Makeup Magazine and Founder & Executive Director at The Powder Group, Michael DeVellis. We even made new friends an artist named Pamela, who is also from the Bay Area. So glad I picked up their clear soft pack systems, great for organizing during on-location event makeup.

Here’s some of the many makeup brands who was at #TMUSLA:

Scott Barnes

Featuring his New Multi Media foundation, mink eyelash collection and the famous Body Bling.

Urban Decay

Frends Beauty

The beauty superstore carried tons of $1 eye lashes and great deals of many makeup brands!

Featuring live body painting!

Cao Cosmetics and a selfie with founder Alee Cao!

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics

I’m in love with their colors and the pepperminty smell! 100% vegan and cruelty free 🙂

Live workshops by Ruby Makeup Academy

More artistic creations and makeovers spotted on the shows floor

Wrapping up at the end of the show with a visit to the Kat Von D booth to pick up some fav liquid lipstick colors.

My makeup haul from the show featuring tons of new matte liquid lip colors, highlighters, tinted foundations with SPF from NARS and Jouer for the summer, $1 eyelashes, Skindinavia setting spray – a makeup artist cult favorite and beauty tools for on-location makeup clients. I’m in love with my clear soft pack systems from The Powder Group and more Z Palettes for the traveling makeup artist. Stay tuned for new makeup looks with the new products on my blog and Instagram!
